The Effects of the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program on % body Fat and Levels of Serum Lipid of Women in Midlife

Abstract
This study was to examine the effects of the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program on %body fat and levels of serum lipid of women in midlife. Experimental group(20) was matched to control group(20). The Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program was carried out for 80 minutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. The collected data were processed using the SPSS PC program and analyzed using x2-test, t-test, ANCOVA. The result of this study are as follows: The degree of %body fat of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group. The degrees of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and atherosclerotic index of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, the degree of triglyceride of the experimental group was not lower than that of the control group and the degree of HDL-cholesterol of the experimental group was not higher than that of the control group. In conclusion, the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program decreased the %body fat and partially decreased levels of serum lipid of women in midlife.
